a web librarian at the corporate level), and the product that you arrange
content for is one of the hottest in the industry. Plus, there's lots
of room to grow, as the company is just starting to realize the
importance of us library types, and the department is a really good one.

AUTOMATED SERVICES CONTENT MANAGER (or LIBRARIAN)

for Synopsys, one of the leading producers of EDA software, located in
Mountain View, CA. (http://www.synopsys.com).

Job Description: Arranges and maintains the eelctronic content of
automated help systems (called SOLV-IT!), including defining processes
to enter and maintain information. Leads teams of engineers and
publishing professional to help define content, and trains company in
use of automated systems, in addition to evangelizing the system both
internally and to Synopsys customers. Will be responsible for managing
an increasing knowledgebase of a wide variety of topics and developing
the reports, methodology, and communications methods to adequately
support them.

Responsibilities: Managing several comprehensive systems for electronic
publishing and reporting. Matrix manage a large group of cross-
functional authors, reveiwers, and technical writers. Internal promotions
through contests and information on system usage. Publishing two
bi-monthly electronic newsletters for distribution to external
customers and employees, respectively.

Required: MLS or MLIS from an accredited school, or equivalent information-
management experience. Excellent communications skills, both written and
oral. Able to work on Unix, PC, and Macintosh systems. Project
management and training experience. Must be familiar with the Internet
and the World Wide Web. A high aptitude for multi-tasking is required.

Desirable: Knowledge of HTML, cgi, shell scripting, Perl. Understanding
of web server and Unix system administration. Experience in operational
techniques and use of metrics to effectively drive change is a plus.
