FOI Request for Database

This is in reply to Matthew Penn's posting about an FOIA request for a 
community network's subscriber list. His posting was long. I would say 
that they should get an opinion from another attorney. If his 
organization is a private not-for-profit and not a government agency, the 
Freedom of Information Act may not even apply. Mr. Penn is right to 
object to such a use of the FOIA.

Library folk involved with community networks might also be interested in 
a listserv called communet.
