EWAN telnet problem

I have a customer who is using EWAN as the telnet client for their
networked PCs in a research facility.  They are having trouble using the
Print and Download features while doing a VT100 session.  Seems as if the
printer queue is getting loaded with non-information which translates as
reams of blank paper (until you reset the printer) spitting out.  Has
anyone experienced this or know a possible fix?
