Telnet access via WWW

My daughter has a Mac and uses Netscape.  We were given something called 
MacSamson, which was supposed to enable us to telnet, but we have not 
been able to get it to work yet.  

I saw another post on this topic, about needing software that would make
your pc a telnet client.  Maybe that is what you are missing:  some sort 
of telnet client software.
