Yes, the story was in our local paper, too (Arlington Heights, IL, Daily
Herald).  I don't think it went as far as "buying the rights" however.  It
sounded more like an agreement to share technology and co-develop future
products.  The implication seemed to be that Microsoft had realized it
wasn't going to catch up in the area of Internet-related software and was
buying into the market instead.
