YOU CAN VOLUNTEER FOR THE ALA MIDWINTER INTERNET ROOM.

OR YOU CAN TURN THE PAGE.

Yes, folks, it's that time again. The time when you realize that
ALA Midwinter is bearing down on us, and you haven't gotten your
hotel reservations figured out, you haven't booked a flight, you're
not even completely sure where the conference is this year. This
message can help with one of those problems*, but at a price: you
have to read our call for volunteers.

Once again, the LITA Internet Room Steering Committee is looking
for people to help staff the Internet Room during the ALA conference.
Volunteers do not need to be Internet experts. If you can find
your way around a telnet session, if you can find the Back and Home
buttons on a couple of popular web browsers, if you can refer tough
questions to any experts hanging out in the room, then you may be
the person for us.

We do, however, strongly request that you volunteer once you know
what your meeting schedule for Midwinter will be. We also must
request that you volunteer only if you can attend a training/orientation
session which will be held at 6:00pm, Friday, January 19. The
orientation usually takes about an hour.

The times for which volunteers are needed are:

Saturday, Jan 20: 9:00am to 4:00pm
Sunday, Jan. 21: 9:00am to 4:00pm
Monday, Jan. 22: 9:00am to 3:00pm

If you can make the orientation session and want to volunteer,
please send e-mail to Thomas Dowling, tdowling at ohiolink.edu (watch
those addresses carefully--please don't just reply to this note),
indicating your choices of one- to two-hour time slots. To see
what time slots are still available, please refer to

Texas. Don't say we've never done anything for you!)
